Honouring the body—even when it feels unfamiliar

Lately, I’ve been learning to come home to my body all over again.

After my diagnosis, the body I had loved, danced with, and guided others to celebrate, suddenly felt unfamiliar. Everything I knew—my own teachings on movement and feminine expression—were still true, but I was seeing them through new eyes.

What I’ve come to realize is this: embodiment doesn’t always look like fluidity or grace. Sometimes it’s found in stillness. Sometimes in tears. Sometimes in simply choosing to stay.

I’m not writing this as a teacher with all the answers. I’m still on the journey. But I want to honour this truth: even when we feel disconnected, we can still reach inward with care.

So I’m sharing this not to instruct—but to be real with you. And maybe, if you’re walking through something too, this will help you feel less alone.

Reflection Invitation:
When was the last time you felt at home in your body?
And if it’s been a while… could you offer yourself one breath of compassion today?

If this resonates, come sit closer. I share the real stuff in my newsletter.
